Founded in 1981, the Sundance Film Festival is the largest independent film festival in the United States, dedicated to championing independent stories for the screen. Hundreds of films launched at the Festival have gained critical recognition and reached worldwide audiences eager for fresh perspectives and new voices.

The 2025 Festival’s comprehensive identity was designed by Sulki + Min. A new version of Monument Grotesk Mono was created, featuring a customizable underscore referencing the landscape and buildings of Park City, Utah. Graphic elements featuring details of scenery from past Sundance-winning films, dramatically blown up and abstracted, (sometimes to resemble Utah’s unique landforms) were

Afternoon Inc. extended this design language into various motion assets, working alongside Kristina Mueller at Sundance.

The trailer, a collaboration with composer Joel Pickard, was screened at the beginning of 90+ films at the festival, creating a calm transition before the start of each film.
